APVS is a non-for-profit Francophone organisation offering prevention, education and support services and fulfilling the psycho-social needs of people living with HIV, affected by the virus or being at risk of infection, no matter what personal background they have.

VALUES

APVS delivers services without discrimination based on age, race, culture, religion, faith, gender, handicap, and sexual orientation.

We provide services based on a social justice approach that reduces hazards for the individuals and the society.

We acknowledge the stigmatization of people and communities living with HIV and its impact, and we are committed to fight against what cause its prevalence and to diminish its effects.

We promote a holistic approach that deals with all aspects of each personality: physical, psychological, spiritual, sexual and social.

We convey a positive attitude towards sexuality and any type of sexual relationships because sexual health is part of a general health.

We are committed to respect and promote our clients’ confidentiality.

We cooperate with individuals and community organisations to develop their capability to proactively commit themselves towards improving the well-being of people living with HIV, affected by or at risk of being infected.

We respect our clients’ autonomy by easing information access, by being transparent, accountable and letting them participate to the decision process, including the implement of an harm-reduction approach.

We acknowledge the importance of providing a safe and healthy work environment that promotes respect and mutual help between employees and volunteers.

We share, as a common goal, to provide excellent services to our clients and encourage our employees and volunteers to enrol in continuous education process and community involvement.
